Frequently Asked questions

  • A psychologist is a licensed mental health professional trained to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological challenges. In Ontario, psychologists hold a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) and are registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. They use evidence-based therapies to support clients in understanding their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Unlike psychiatrists, psychologists do not prescribe medication but focus on talk-based interventions to promote lasting mental wellness.

  • I am currently accepting referrals for child (age 10+) and adult anxiety and OCD therapy and child and adolescent assessment. Services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each age group, using evidence-based approaches in a supportive, client-centered environment. If I am not the right provider for you, I will provide you with some referrals.

  • All new clients begin with a free 20-minute phone consultation. This brief conversation helps determine whether your presenting concerns are a good fit for my practice. It's also an opportunity to ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable before moving forward with therapy or assessment services.

  • Therapy and/or assessment services with registered psychologists, psychotherapists, or social workers in private practice are not covered by OHIP. Individuals seeking services from these professionals usually need to pay out-of-pocket or use private insurance benefits.

  • Direct billing is available for clients with select insurance plans (including, but not limited to, Greenshield, Manulife, Sunlife, CanadaLife). However, please note that a valid credit card must be kept on file to cover any remaining balance if your insurance does not fully cover the session or if you have a late cancellation or no-show, as this is not covered by insurance.

  • The fee for a standard 50-minute therapy session is $240. Payment is due at the time of service, and receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement or tax purposes.

Assessments vary in price depending on the type of assessment requested and are billed at the same hourly rate as therapy ($240 per hour). See the “Assessment” tab for more information about types of assessments offered and their costs. Payment is due piecemeal as the assessment is completed.

  • Payment can be made by credit card or e-transfer. In some cases, direct billing is available for clients with eligible insurance plans.

All clients are required to have a valid credit card on file to cover late cancellations and missed appointments. Credit card information is collected and stored securely through Jane, a trusted, privacy-compliant practice management platform.
